I’ve pretty much lived in the dance and fitness community since forever. Pre-school days back in Latvia, to be exact. Dance classes, rehearsals, performances - it was a whole personality trait before Instagram was even a thing.

And when I moved to the UK at 18? That didn’t change.

What did change? Well... suddenly I was living with a British host family (yes, full-on exchange student vibes) while figuring out how to adult in a completely new country.

And because I craved freedom from the get-go (translation: I was not built for the boring life), I worked all the jobs. Whatever kept the dance classes going, the gym memberships rolling, the nights out happening... I was in.

Night shifts? Done them. Retail? Been there. Hustling my way through life because I knew one thing for sure - I was never going to settle for an ordinary life.

Here’s the funny part though.

For someone who gets fidgety the second life gets too predictable... you’d think staring at spreadsheets for hours wouldn’t exactly hit the dopamine spot.

But somehow? It does.

Spending a whole day reconciling transactions feels like meditation to me. Give me messy books, mystery payments, random screenshots of Stripe reports... chef’s kiss. I’m weird like that.

So when I finally swapped night shifts for a corporate finance job, it was like life clicked into a new gear.
